Dr Annemarie Winters

Dr Annemarie Winters
MBBS, FRACGP, DipChild Health (UK)
Independent visiting General Practitioner at

Moonee Medical Centre

Annemarie was born in The Netherlands and completed her studies there in 2001. Hooked on the Royal Flying Doctors – tv series, she found Broken Hill on the internet and organised a 6 weeks student placement in 2001. The life style, country and people of Australia made this an unforgettable time.

She decided to start her first job in Australia in the Gold Coast as a junior doctor in 2002.

After going back to The Netherlands in 2003 and working as an Emergency Doctor in training for 18 months, it was very obvious Australia made its mark and she decided to return in 2005.

That’s when she met her husband Dr Sam Martin, Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Post graduate training for Sam and Annemarie took them through Queensland form 2005-2009 as they worked in different hospitals each year.

Annemarie worked in different departments as a Registrar ( ED, Medical, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, ICU) while she sat the Australian Medical Council Exam.

In 2012 she completed her GP training and started working in a Skin Cancer Clinic in Coffs Harbour.

Annemarie and Sam welcomed 3 new little persons to this world between 2014 and 2017 and Annemarie worked part time in Skin Cancer Medicine during these busy times.

As life is becoming a little less hectic again she is trying to get back into Emergency Medicine and will start part time work in Grafton ED from Feb 2021.

Dr Winters is an independent visiting Doctor at Moonee Medical Centre doing Skin Cancer Medicine on Mondays only.

Annemarie loves anything to do with the outdoors. Camping, bike riding, hiking, beach walks.

As the three children grow into “sensible, reliable and responsible” persons, it’s a delight and constant process to balance work, family and social aspects of our lives.
